Luís Coutinho is a Brazilian developer and creative technologist.
Before creating the pseudonym
luis & squares, Luís was terribly bored during the Covid-19 pandemic between 2021 and 2022.
It was during this time that he discovered the Blender software and began creating 3D modeling art,
publishing some of his works on his
Instagram account.
At that time, Luís was studying Electromechanics at the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN). With the skills he acquired during the pandemic, he joined an internal laboratory called FabLab PotiMaker, focused on digital fabrication and prototyping projects. There, he discovered 3D printing — something he never imagined doing when he first started learning 3D modeling. At FabLab PotiMaker, Luís helped develop robotics and 3D printing projects and taught workshops at events.
After becoming an Electromechanics technician, he began his undergraduate studies in Computer Science at João Pessoa University Center (UNIPÊ). In his very first semester, he started the project of creating this website and writing the paragraph you, the reader, are reading right now.
In 2025, Luís joined EmbarcaTech, a technological residency program in embedded systems at IFRN, where he worked with microcontrollers, communication protocols, IoT, and real-time systems. He also joined CI Expert in 2026, a microelectronics residency at the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG), further deepening his expertise in hardware/software integration and expanding his practice into the field of microelectronics.
Luís enjoys art, programming, 3D, books, chess, paper boats, and squares. He aims to leave his mark on the world by taking part in the Fifth Industrial Revolution, transhumanism, and writing books.
Overall, Luís Coutinho has skills in 3D modeling, 3D printing, embedded systems, graphic design, web development, creative coding and prototyping. If you'd like to get in touch, send a message. You can also check out his portfolio:
